Jules et Jim

How did you get involved in home decor?

I am an architect and worked one year after my degree with an architect with not enough work. I couldn’t find a good position and went back to Manuel Canovas where I had worked 2 days a week during my studies. Then I became in love with fabrics.

Vero was studying advertising and working on it. The manager of Fardis offered her a job with them, and she took it!

What was the path that led to you starting your own showroom?

I had a small shop in Paris of decor for children’s rooms and Véro was working as a rep for Manuel Canovas and came to visit me! A few years later, she asked me to join the company where she was working for – JAGTAR, a Thaï silks editor. I was in charge of the export market and she took care of the French market.

We had some very nice years together there, but it ended up badly and closed. We had enough experience to start our own business, so we did. We started at home, then with a small showroom near La Bastille, then moved to rue Thérèse where we are now.
